In-Network Insurance & Payment Options

We understand that navigating mental health care expenses can be challenging. Kiddo Psychiatry now accepts major health insurance plans across Texas, making expert pediatric psychiatric care accessible and affordable for your family.

In-Network Insurance Plans We Accept

  • BlueCross BlueShield (BCBS) Texas: We accept BCBS PPO and commercial plans for child and adolescent psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and therapy in Austin, Houston, and statewide.

  • Aetna: Kiddo Psychiatry is in-network with Aetna health plans, offering covered pediatric mental health care for children and teens.

  • UnitedHealthcare (UHC): Apply your UHC behavioral health benefits directly to specialized pediatric psychiatry appointments and ongoing care.

  • Curative: Curative plan members enjoy streamlined access with zero or low copay options for our child and adolescent mental health services.

  • Anthem: We accept Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans for comprehensive pediatric psychiatric care.

  • Optum Behavioral Health: In-network billing is managed directly through Optum for all mental health and psychiatric visits.

  • Meritain Health (An Aetna Company): Meritain Health members receive full in-network coverage for pediatric psychiatric services at our clinic.

Out-of-Network Plans & Superbills

If your insurance provider is not listed above, you can still access care at Kiddo Psychiatry as an out-of-network patient. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits that allow families to claim partial or full reimbursement.

How Out-of-Network Reimbursement Works:

  1. Check Your Benefits: Call your insurance provider and ask:

    • Do you cover out-of-network mental health/psychiatric services?

    • What is the reimbursement rate for pediatric psychiatric visits?

    • What is my out-of-network deductible, and has it been met?

    • Is pre-authorization required for psychiatric care?

  2. Receive a Superbill: After each visit, we provide an itemized Superbill (detailed invoice containing provider details, ICD-10 diagnosis codes, CPT treatment codes, and payment info).

  3. Submit Your Claim: Submit the superbill directly to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Flexible Payment Options

For copays, deductibles, or out-of-network private pay services, payment is required at the time of service. We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, Health Savings Account (HSA), and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards.

Medicaid & Medicare Policy

Due to federal and state regulations, Kiddo Psychiatry cannot accept Medicaid or Medicare patients, even for self-pay services. If you require Medicaid-covered pediatric psychiatric care, we recommend contacting a community provider within the Medicaid network.
