Got a question?
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my child see a doctor or a nurse practitioner at Kiddo Psychiatry?
At Kiddo Psychiatry, your child will always see a board-certified medical doctor. From your very first diagnostic consultation to every follow-up visit, your family’s care is managed exclusively by a fully licensed psychiatrist who specializes in child, adolescent, and adult mental health.
Why is an all-doctor psychiatric model so important for children and teens?
Developing brains and bodies are highly sensitive to psychiatric interventions. Behavioral changes in children can often be tied to underlying medical conditions, hormonal shifts, or developmental stages. Because our team is comprised strictly of medical doctors, we possess the comprehensive clinical training necessary to accurately differentiate between physical medical issues and psychological conditions, ensuring a safer and more accurate treatment path for your child.
Do your Texas board-certified psychiatrists treat adults as well?
Yes. While our name highlights our dedication to pediatric and adolescent care, our elite team includes physicians board-certified to treat adults as well. We provide comprehensive, family-centered psychiatric care across the entire state of Texas, supporting both younger patients and their parents under a single, highly specialized medical umbrella.
What ages do your psychiatrists treat?
Kiddo Psychiatry provides psychiatric care for kids, teens, young adults, and adults. Many families come to us for their child’s care, but we also support parents and adults with concerns such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, and other mental health needs
