This guide answers our most common questions, so you can quickly find what you need in one place.

Access My Chart or Portal

How do I log into my patient portal?
  • Visit Access Patient Portal →
  • View your chart, prescriptions, lab orders, and visit notes anytime.
  • Forgot your password? Click “Forgot Password” or message our admin team for help.

How do I share documents or forms with my psychiatrist?

  • Upload securely in your portal “Documents” tab. REMEMBER to click ‘share‘ once uploaded. 
  • Please do not email clinical documents.

How do I reach my doctor?

Send a portal message for non-urgent matters. Note, this is the quickest way to reach us. 

Please allow up to 7 business days for a reply.

When are you open?

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

Messages sent after hours or weekends are handled the next business day.

Manage My Medications

How do I request a prescription refill?

Send us a message through the Patient Portal for refills.

Allow 7 business days for  medications refills. Please DO NOT wait till you run out of medication, because it may cause unnecessary side effects. 

Stimulant prescriptions and controlled substances require additional time due to state monitoring requirements.

Note, refill requests are reviewed during business hours.  

Make sure your next follow-up appointment is scheduled before your medication runs out.

How are medication prior authorizations handled?

Please ask your pharmacy to initiate the prior authorization request. 

Once we receive the request, we will complete the application and we will notify you when approved. 

We may ask you to reach out to your insurance for updates. 

Schedule, Cancel, or Reschedule Appointments

How do I schedule my next appointment?

Easiest way to schedule an appointment is through the patient portal.  If you have trouble scheduling, send us a message via the Portal

How often should follow-ups be scheduled?

Stable medication regimen: 1 – 2 months. 

Active medication adjustments: every 2-4 weeks. 

Therapy: as discussed with your clinician

How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?

In order to cancel or reschedule an appointment, send us a message via the portal

Please give at least 72  hours’ notice to avoid a fee.

No-Show / Late Cancellation Fee: Full charge of the appointment cost

Understand Payment & Billing

How do payments work for my visit?

Insurance Visits: Your co-pay or co-insurance is charged the same day based on your plan’s benefits.

After insurance processes your claim, any balance (like deductible or uncovered services) will be billed to your card on file.

Private Pay: Payment is due on the day of your appointment.

Note: we require a valid credit card on file at all times. 

What is a Good Faith Estimate (GFE)?

You’ll receive a GFE before your appointment to outline the expected cost and your estimated out-of-pocket portion.

It’s part of our commitment to transparency.

What payment methods do you accept?

Credit/debit cards and HSA/FSA cards are accepted.

We’re a cashless practice and do not accept checks.

Who do I contact for billing questions?

Message “Office Manager” through your portal.

Request Forms, Letters, or Paperwork

How do I request a school or work letter, or a 504/IEP form?

Send a message through the portal describing what you need.

Please allow 5–7 business days for a response.

Note: Most requests require an appointment with the doctor for completion 

Handle Emergencies or Safety Concerns

What should I do in a psychiatric or safety emergency?

Kiddo Psychiatry does not provide emergency services.
If you or your child ever feel unsafe or in crisis:
