At Kiddo Psychiatry, we believe families deserve clear, transparent information about the cost of care.

We provide comprehensive psychiatric care for children, teens and their families across Texas, both in person and through telehealth. Our goal is to make the financial side of care feel simple and predictable, so you can focus on healing.

Insurance We Accept

We are in-network with select insurance plans in Texas, including:

  • Aetna 
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas (PPO)
  • Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shiel

Coverage varies based on your individual plan. Before your first visit, we:

  • Verify your benefits
  • Review your deductible and copay
  • Explain your estimated responsibility
  • Answer your questions

Please note:

  • We do not accept Medicaid at this time.
  • Some services may not be fully covered by insurance.

Self-Pay Rates

For families who prefer not to use insurance, or whose plans are out-of-network, we offer transparent self-pay pricing.

Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation (Visit 1)

$450

This visit includes:

  • Detailed diagnostic assessment
  • Parent and child interview (as appropriate)
  • Review of prior records
  • Standardized rating scales
  • Diagnostic impressions
  • Personalized treatment recommendations

Follow-Up Appointments

30-minute visit: $225

Follow-up visits may include:

  • Medication management
  • Monitoring progress and symptoms
  • Support for school and home functioning
  • Adjustments to treatment plans
  • Brief supportive therapy when appropriate

What May Affect Cost

Some visits require additional time or structured assessments depending on clinical needs.

Examples may include:

  • Extended evaluation time
  • Multiple standardized rating scales
  • Detailed school or accommodation letters
  • Care coordination outside scheduled visits

If additional fees apply, we discuss this with you in advance whenever possible.


Using Insurance: What to Expect

Even when using insurance, families may be responsible for:

  • Copays
  • Coinsurance
  • Deductible amounts
  • Non-covered services

We submit claims on your behalf and make every effort to minimize unexpected billing.

If a claim is denied or partially covered, we will help you understand the next steps.

How much does child psychiatry cost in Texas?

Costs vary depending on whether you use insurance or self-pay. Our comprehensive psychiatric evaluation is $450. Follow-up visits range from $225.

What if I have a high deductible?

If your deductible has not been met, you may be responsible for the contracted rate until it is satisfied. 

Do you accept Medicaid?

At this time, we do not accept Medicaid.

What is included in the initial evaluation?

The first visit includes a comprehensive psychiatric assessment, which may involve parent and child interviews, review of records, standardized rating scales, diagnostic clarification, and a detailed treatment plan.

Do you offer telehealth across Texas?

Yes. We provide secure telehealth appointments for families throughout Texas. Telehealth visits are structured the same way as in-person visits and are covered by insurance plans.

When is payment due?

Copays, deductibles, and self-pay fees are due at the time of service. We securely keep a payment method on file to simplify billing.
